Welcome Back to Brentwood Park
A new school year is upon us and we are excited to welcome many new students to Brentwood Park and are excited to welcome our former students back as well. Here is some information for our students and families about our first week back.
THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: TUESDAY SEPT. 3rd, 2024 @ 8:59AM -10AM
On Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at 8:59am, Grade 1 – 7 students should report to their last year’s classroom to be welcomed back from their summer vacation.
New students will report to the library on the first day (the library faces the alley just past the main office entrance and flagpole). All students will be dismissed at 10am.
All parents and caregivers are invited for coffee and a Parent Advisory Council (PAC) mix and mingle near the school playground from 9-10am. This will give you a chance to meet and catch up with friends and neighbours.
From Wednesday, September 4th to Tuesday, September 10th, Grade 1-7 students will report to their “homeroom” grouping. Information about homerooms and locations is posted around the school and will be sent to families. New students will receive “homeroom” information on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd.
During the first week our theme is ‘We are Together’ and we will build on our ‘Me to We’ journey, exploring the many ways we can work, grow, learn and play together at Brentwood Park. We will also revisit our school motto of ‘Care for Ourselves, Care for Others and Care for Our Community”. Students will be engaged in a variety of activities and rotate through stations during our first week.
One of the springboard resources we will use is the book titled We Move Together written by Kelly Fritsch.
We hope to be able to assign students to their new classrooms sometime during the day on Tuesday, September 10th.
KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS
Students entering Kindergarten do not come to school on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd. Their ‘Welcome to Our School’ event will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 4th and then their gradual entry schedule will begin. Kindergarten families have been sent information about gradual entry.
See you in September. It is going to be a fantastic year of learning as a community together.
